Maico_by_grace nacesBefore going to the wedding photo shoot, there are things to remember before setting out.

Here are some of them:

  • Bring extra batteries for everything in your equipment that needs them.
  • Bring the memory card reader, a flash disk, and some blank discs with you. You’ll never know when things go crazy so it’ s best to stay prepared.
  • You may bring your laptop but do not rely heavily on it, therefore make at least two backups.
  • Bring extra memory cards.
  • A white umbrella could come in handy in case it rains and the couple forgot to bring one–it can also add as props for some shots.
  • Stash energy bars or a chocolate bar in your bag.
  • Loose change on the outside pocket of your bag could come in handy.
  • Charge your cellphone and batteries the night before BUT put the charger next to the bag you are carrying on the day or you might run the risk of forgetting your batteries.
  • Bring bottled water and an extra shirt.
  • Cologne and a tissue pack could help keep comfort in the zone while you are shooting.
  • Bring an assistant if you could, that way, you won’t have to worry about your stuff.
  • Leave any emotional matters behind. Weddings are joyous occasions, therefore the photographer must blend in.
  • Get a good night sleep on the night before the event. This could help in keeping your mood up and your mind clear.
  • During the photo shoot, be as unobtrusive as possible unless you have to call for attention because some standard shots require it.
  • Take a deep breath and be patient. Don’t lose your cool.
  • Most importantly, have fun with the couple. Happy Photographer + Happy Couple = Happy Photos

There are some more specific tips but these would be quite enough to get you started. Have fun shooting!
